Provost search nears finish

Three finalists have been selected to interview for the Provost position at Southeast Missouri State University.
Candidates will interview on campus during the week of Nov. 30-Dec. 4.
The finalists are Dr. Thomas Erekson, dean of the College of Business and Technology at Western Illinois University, Macomb, Ill.; Dr. Ronald Rosati, vice president for Academic Affairs and provost at Alfred State College, State University of New York, Alfred, N.Y.; and Dr. Kathleen Rountree, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Ithaca College, Ithaca N.Y. The three candidates were selected after a nationwide search and semi-finalists interviews with the search committee. Academic Search, Inc., assisted with identifying potential applicants and with the screening process.
Candidates will meet with the University community and answer questions at a series of meetings and open forums Nov. 30-Dec. 4. Open forums with Rountree are scheduled for 10-10:50 a.m. and 2-2:50 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1. Open forums with Erekson are scheduled for 11-11:50 a.m. and 1-1:50 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3. Open forums with Rosati are scheduled for 10-10:50 a.m. and 2-2:50 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4. All open forums will be held in the University Center Program Lounge.
Following input from faculty, staff and students, a recommendation for selection of the new Provost will be forwarded to the Southeast Board of Regents for consideration at their Dec. 17 meeting.
