Looking for that last minute Christmas gift?
Look no further than the 37th annual Christmas Arts and Crafts Extravaganza, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 17 and Sunday, Nov. 18 at both the Show Me Center and the Osage Center in Cape Girardeau.
The show will house over 250 vendors who will be selling all homemade wares. For just $3 per day, one can attend the show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, which has been sponsoring the event for 37 years, hosts the event. According to Valarie Wutherford, director of the craft show and administrative assistant to the Arts Council, over 18,000 people attended last year and she plans for more to attend this year.
Wutherford said that the vendors come from all over the United States, but most come from the southeast Missouri area. She also says that four tables are still available to be filled for vendors.
Wutherford also said that the council is in the process of planning their annual Arts Cape at Capaha Park in May, which is aimed towards children but contains events for the adults as well.
All proceeds will be donated to the community arts programming. The event is handicap accessible and will also have free parking.
